What ingredients are needed for banana bread?

Banana bread is a delicious, moist, and flavorful treat that is easy to make and can be enjoyed by people of all ages. The basic banana bread recipe only requires a few simple ingredients that you may already have at home. Here is a list of what you will need to make the perfect banana bread:

• Bananas – You will need very ripe, mashed bananas (about 3-4 medium sized bananas). The riper the banana, the better the flavor!

• Flour – A combination of all-purpose flour and whole wheat flour works best for banana bread. This will give it a nice texture while providing extra fiber.

• Sugar – White sugar helps to sweeten the banana bread while similar sugars such as brown or coconut sugar can be used. This is a personal preference and you can use whichever type you prefer.

• Baking Powder & Soda – Leavening agents like baking powder and baking soda will help give your banana bread the perfect rise.

• Salt – A pinch of salt accents all the other flavors. Use coarse or fine sea salt if possible - avoid iodized table salt if possible as this could make your baked goods taste bitter.

• Dairy – Milk (or non-dairy alternatives) can add creaminess and richness to your batter while plain yogurt (or non-dairy alternatives) provide an added boost of protein. If using yogurt, make sure to drain some of the liquid from it before mixing in with other ingredients.

• Oil/Butter – Choose an oil or butter (or both!) for added moisture in your recipe - this helps keep your finished product deliciously moist! Alternatives such as melted coconut oil work great too!
